Who is the course for?
This qualification is aimed at candidates (16+) who wish to work within the fitness industry as a fitness instructor
What will I study?
Exercise and Fitness Knowledge (underpinning theory) and the design and instruction of a fitness programme
What qualifications or experience do I need to get on the course?
All candidates must have a reasonably good level of English, including reading, writing and oral skills.
What qualification could I achieve?
CYQ Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing

How will I be assessed?
Through a multiple choice theory exam and the development and instruction of a training programme
What can the course lead to?
Employment within the fitness industry as a Fitness Instructor. This course will also enable you to enrol onto additional vocational courses such as Exercise to Music and Circuit Training. You could also further your career by completing the CYQ Level 3 Personal Training qualification.
CYQ LEVEL 3 PERSONAL TRAINING
Exercise your right to improve your future at Barnet College with a CYQ Level 3 Personal Training course! You must have completed the CYQ Level 2 Fitness Instructor qualification to be eligible for this course.
Who is the course for?
This qualification is aimed at Candidates, aged 18 years or over at the start of the course, who wish to work as a Personal Trainer either freelance or within a Health Club.
What will I study?
• Exercise and Fitness Knowledge
• Advanced Resistance Training
• Advanced Cardiovascular Training
• Training in Different Environments
• Business and Marketing
• Client Lifestyle and Fitness Assessment
• Nutrition and Weight Management
What qualifications or experience do I need to get on the course?
• This qualification is aimed at candidates, aged 18 or over at the start of the course, who have an interest in increasing their knowledge base and programming skills
• Candidates should already be in possession of a Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing and current CPR certificate
• Ability to pass a diagnostic test in Communications
What qualification could I achieve?
Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training
